Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

This policy covers the SN Maths mobile app and this website. It describes what we actually collect and why. If something here does not match what the app does, the app is wrong and we want to hear about it.

1. What we collect

Your phone number. This is how you sign in — we send a one-time code by SMS and there is no password. Your phone number is your account.

Your name. You tell us this the first time you sign in, so teachers and other students can see who is speaking in a live class.

The phone number on your SIM (Android). With your permission, the app reads the number of the SIM in your device and sends it with your requests, so we can check that the account being used still belongs to this phone. If you decline the permission, you can still sign in by typing your number.

What you do in the app. Which courses and lessons you open, how far through a video you are, what you download for offline viewing, and the messages you send in live class chat. Chat messages are visible to the teacher and to other students in that class.

Purchases. When you buy a course we record what you bought, when, and the payment reference. Card, UPI and banking details are entered directly with our payment provider and never reach our servers.

Device and diagnostic data. Crash reports and error diagnostics, your app version, and a notification token so we can tell you when a class is starting.

2. Analytics and session recordings

We use PostHog to understand how the app is used and to find bugs. This includes product analytics — which screens you open and which features you use — and session recordings: a replay of your interaction with the app, capturing the screens you saw and where you tapped.

This data is linked to your account rather than anonymous, because it is what lets us reproduce a problem a specific student reports. It is used to fix and improve the app. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising. Recordings are held by PostHog on servers in the European Union.

3. Who else sees your data

We do not sell, rent or lease your personal information. We share only what a service needs in order to work:

Razorpay — payments. PostHog — analytics, session recordings and crash reports. Twilio — delivering your sign-in code by SMS. Cloudflare — hosting, and streaming class video. Google — delivering push notifications, and distributing the app.

We also disclose data where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect the security of our platform.

4. Deleting your account

You can delete your account from inside the app: Account → Delete account. This removes your personal details, signs you out everywhere, and ends your access to purchased courses.

Records of payments are kept after deletion, without your personal details attached to them, because we are required to retain financial records. Everything else identifying you is erased.

5. Keeping it safe

Everything travels over encrypted connections. Your sign-in token is held in your device's secure storage — the Android Keystore or the iOS Keychain — not in ordinary app files. Course video is served through signed links that expire, so a copied link does not give someone else access.

Questions about your privacy?

If you have any concerns about how your data is handled, or you want a copy of what we hold about you, write to us and we will answer.
